Daily Thought - 2024-09-23
Hey, I'm Hanno! These are my daily thoughts on Crosscut, the programming language I'm creating. If you have any questions, comments, or feedback, please get in touch!
This thought was published before Crosscut was called Crosscut! If it refers to "Caterpillar", that is the old name, just so you know.
After making the latest tweak to the syntax, I realized that with a code database, this wouldn't even be a breaking change.
The rendering of existing code would change, but that would just happen on the fly. And the input format for new code would be different, although a potential custom editor could accept both syntaxes as input for a while.
Sure, this would still be something that needs to be communicated to and understood by developers. But nobody would need to go into existing code to migrate it.
Hey, you! Want to subscribe to my daily thoughts? Just let me know (maybe include a nice message, if you're up for it), and I'll send you an email whenever I post a new one.
