Daily Thought - 2024-11-05
Hey, I'm Hanno! These are my daily thoughts on Crosscut, the programming language I'm creating. If you have any questions, comments, or feedback, please get in touch!
This thought was published before Crosscut was called Crosscut! If it refers to "Caterpillar", that is the old name, just so you know.
The idea I presented yesterday about the interaction of event sourcing and compile-time optimizations, would require some level of integration between Caterpillar's tooling, including the compiler, and an event sourcing framework.
The advantages of that are attractive, but there are disadvantages too. We'll see how this develops. I'm less concerned these days, about Caterpillar being seen as a general-purpose language. It's a long-term goal, but there are problems to solve in the meantime.
Hey, you! Want to subscribe to my daily thoughts? Just let me know (maybe include a nice message, if you're up for it), and I'll send you an email whenever I post a new one.
